Sunshine Marine Lodge has:
- 15 Sunshine Suites
- 4 Blue Wave Suites
- 2 Blue Breeze Suites
- 2 Panorama Suites
In every room you find a comfortable queen size bed with large mosquito net, private bathroom with shower and toilet, effective ceiling fan, strong standing fan, small bedside fan, safe deposit box, stone bench covered with cushions, wooden wardrobe, cool ambient lights, spacious balcony or veranda.
All the rooms are doubles but in all of them it is possible to add one extra bed (maximum of 6 triple rooms at the same time). In Panorama Suites it is possible to add two extra beds. Lodge can also offer twin accommodation. There is no interconnected rooms.
ROOMS DESCRIPTION
- Sunshine Suites: Sunshine Suites are located in bungalows spread on a gentle hill and surrounded by the gardens. There are 4 rooms in each bungalow: two upstairs and two downstairs. From all the rooms it is possible to see the Ocean. In all our Sunshine Suites guests can relax on the comfortable furniture on spacious balconies or verandas.
- Blue Wave Suites: Blue Wave Suites are four ocean front rooms situated on the edge of the cliff in a bungalow . The two upstairs and two downstairs rooms are the same size as the Sunshine Suites . From the balconies and verandas, furnished with comfortable armchairs, opens a scenic view to the Ocean and Mnemba Island.
- Blue Breeze Suites: Blue Breese Suites are also located on the ocean front, a little bit away from other bungalows to provide extra privacy. One room is downstairs and the other is upstairs. The rooms are bigger that Sunshine Suites and Blue Wave Suites and have more spacious bathrooms. From the balcony upstairs and the veranda downstairs, where guests can relax on the comfortable furniture, opens an amazing view to the Ocean and Mnemba Island.
- Panorama Suites: Panorama Suites are our biggest rooms, both upstairs, located in two different bungalows. These two rooms have traditional palm leave ceilings. From their balconies and roof windows the panoramic view to the Ocean is simply breathtaking.
OTHER INFORMATION ABOUT THE LODGE
- Beach: Sunshine Marine Lodge is located on the beautiful cliff and during low tide, in front of the Lodge, there is a temporary beach nice for walking and exploring the exposed ocean floor. We will bring the sun beds down there, so for few hours a day, our guests can enjoy the sun on the beach and observe the marine life. About 700 m from the Lodge there is Muyuni beach – one of the last undeveloped and unspoiled beaches of Zanzibar. This beach can be reached on foot (during the low tide), by bike or car. The beach is perfect for sunbathing, walks and swimming during low and high tides. Its powder white sand washed by clear waters of Indian Ocean, make it one of the most beautiful and scenic beaches on Zanzibar.
- Jetty: The Lodge has a wooden jetty with stairs leading down the beach on the low tide and to the sea on the high tide. The sun beds on the jetty give guests opportunity for sunbathing and observing the Ocean.
- Swimming Pools: Our swimming pools are a pleasant escape from the heat. both are situated near the ocean, close to the Restaurant and Bar areas. The smaller pool is nice for cooling down with a drink and the bigger one – 20 meters long, proper swimming pool – allows to swim comfortably with the beautiful scenery in the background.
- ECO-condition: Please note that we do not have air conditioning in our rooms. Our Lodge aims to be eco-friendly and was specially designed to use the ocean breeze to cool down the rooms (like sultan palaces in the past).
- Restaurant & Bar: Our restaurant and bar serve a wide variety of delicious fresh foods and drinks. Guest are invited to relax with a drink, read a book or play a game in the Boat Bar or the lounge areas around it: on the Upper Deck and in the Rock Garden.
- Internet: We have wireless internet for our guests. Please note that it is not very fast and not very reliable.
